About IMC

The Indonesia Montessori Centre is dedicated to providing high-quality Montessori teacher training that effectively integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application. As an affiliate of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), we offer a comprehensive range of AMI Montessori courses designed for various age groups. We prioritize the establishment of enduring connections with our alumni through the provision of refresher courses and workshops. Our collaboration with educators and schools fosters teamwork, awareness, and community growth. In addition to offering AMI Diploma and Certificate courses, we facilitate a variety of events aimed at enhancing the understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice among parents and childcare professionals. Our mission is to cultivate greater awareness of children's developmental needs and to support their growth through education.

The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori to advance her ground-breaking work and ensure its integrity. Today, AMI stands as a premier global authority dedicated to promoting the scientific and philosophical foundations of Dr. Montessori’s teachings. A key objective of the organization is to enhance understanding of the conditions vital for the comprehensive development of individuals from conception to maturity, both within the family and society. With its headquarters in Amsterdam, AMI confidently directs Montessori Training Courses around the world, offering exceptional pedagogical guidance and support. We provide specialized AMI Montessori Courses tailored to train adults to effectively assist children at three critical age levels: the Assistants to Infancy Course for ages birth to 3 years, the Primary Diploma Course for ages 3 to 6 years, and the Elementary Diploma Course for ages 6 to 12 years.

Our Founders

Our Founders are passionate about Montessori education and are dedicated to providing  exceptional training and support. Janti Susyana, Ari Herdi Wibowo and Suganthi Vijayakumar have come together as the founders of Indonesia Montessori centre.

Janti Susyana

Janti Susyana, the visionary founder of Kiara Karitas Montessori School in Karawaci, has championed Montessori principles since 1999. With a degree in early childhood education and a master's in counselling, she embodies the spirit of dedication and growth. Recognizing the profound need for authentic training, she is determined to establish an AMI Training Centre in Indonesia. Her unwavering belief in the Montessori approach fuels her commitment to creating a flourishing future for Montessori education in Indonesia.

Susanna Ari Herdi Wibowo

Ari Herdi is the passionate co-founder of Kiara Karitas Montessori School and has demonstrated a deep commitment to the principles of the Montessori method of education.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Education, she has focused on early childhood education and has devoted her efforts to supporting underprivileged children and those with special needs. She is currently spearheading a transformative initiative by establishing a state-of-the-art training centre in Indonesia, with the goal of empowering educators and making quality education more accessible to all.

Suganthi Vijayakumar

Suganthi Vijayakumar, is a dedicated AMI trainer-in-training, specializing in education for children aged 6 to 12. With a Master’s degree in English Literature, she possesses a strong foundation in language skills and literacy development. Having earned AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) diplomas at both the elementary and primary levels, Suganthi enhances her expertise in Montessori education. Her extensive experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds in Australia, India, and Indonesia has deepened her understanding of various learning styles and educational needs, enriching her ability to mentor aspiring educators.

Completing her training in both Australia and the United States, Suganthi will serve as the director of the Indonesia Montessori Centre, where her work continues to inspire and empower future educators.
